I recently purchased the iTrip Auto SmartScan fm transmitter. It works just fine, except for one issue which has been present from the first day of use.
When a song is playing, occasionally it will begin to skip backward within the song all the way to the beginning, and will then either repeat the first 1-2 seconds of music, or will skip backward to the previous song that played. I have determined that the problem probably lies in the transmitter, as this issue never occurs when using the ipod normally.
As you can imagine, this gets wholly frustrating, and dangerously distracting while driving.
I have also noticed that pressing the + or - buttons on the iTrip to change frequencies while a song is playing causes the song to skip backward or forward. It seems that the iTrip button input is performing inappropriate actions in addition to changing the transmitter frequency. I only mention this second issue here because they are similar.
Has anyone else ever experienced a problem like this? Does it sound like the two issues are related?
