That I would pay a couple bucks for, so long as it was the newest version and worked flawlessly in Safari.

I'd like to see some games added, and support for those games, and copy/paste would be nice, also a nice addition would be and option to turn coverflow off. I paid for the apps, so maybe if they gave those who purchased apps money back that would be nice too, lol :)

I would like to see the album artwork bug fixed. I have never had this issue, though I know it has been widespread, but I updated to 1.1.3 yesterday and now my artwork is scrambled, and nothing seems to fix it, even though it is all okay in itunes !!!

You know the majority of these bugs seem to be a iTunes issue, and I'd believe it because ever since 7.4 the performance of the application has gotten worse and worse.
Classics seem to have the same mixed art issue as well leading me to believe that its iTunes since both these iPods have different operating systems its hard to believe that they both suffer from the same bug without some common ground.
I'm sure copy/paste feature will be available later in the year for the low price of $39.95 (hey it takes a lot of effort to copy some of the iPhone firmware and put it into the iPod Touch firmware)

1. software update via wifi
2. copy & paste
3. flash player
4. wifi download TV shows, music videos (but not yet for movie because it's too huge)
5. sync calendar for windows users
6. sync notes
7. purchase 3rd party apps directly from wifi itunes store just like buying music
8. important thing is that Apple should support more language like Korean, Chinese.
9. just like mac or pc, iphone and itouch can change wallpaper periodically (of course you can set as random or order)
10. some certain apps, which is designed for iphone or touch, can be downloaded from safari and installed directly into devices.
well, that's all what I want to see.

I want compilations filtering in the artist list.
It's great that coverflow does this. But I don't understand why the artist list doesn't.
Features I would like added: Add albums, artists or videos to the home screen as shortcuts for quick access (eg, i listen to tonnes of one band called "Planetshakers" and I hate having to sift through the music program 30 times to get to it...)
Also, the ability to disable cover flow would be great
Flash support
I believe games will start coming with the new SDK
Also would love a customizable user interface as in: design your own visual elements, eg multiple choices for dock look (eg leopard's dock, iphone, ipod touch classic ect), change your menu bar to show wat songs are playing.
Perhaps a now playing icon on the home screen so you can pause a video and come back to it after you've edited settings
Oh, and perhaps gesture control set a certain gesture as doing a certain activity, or the ability to turn a gesture off.

features I'd like on my ipod.
Oddly they're all music player related:
View and Edit ID3 tags
Per song playlists: when a track is playing opt to delete from current playlist, move to another playlist, or add to new playlist
Lyrics support (which isn't on the basic 1.1.3 update)
SCrollling song titles (when the title is too long it's cut off)
Delete file from ipod: find a track on there that I don't want, delete it (or at least mark it for deletion when I next connect to itunes)
Flac and .ogg support (it will never happen, but I can dream!)
Option to remove apps I don't want like :
weather (i can look outside or online)
stocks (don't have any stocks)
Calendar and Contacts (my ipod is a music player first and foremost not a pda) - don't need either, wish I could remove them
google maps (likewise, don't use it on my phone -which was a free download by the way), won't use it on my ipod
I'd love disk mode too, so that I don't have to use iTunes and can use something better (IMO)
I'd also like to see better use made of multi-touch. As far as I can tell it only has 1 real use: zooming in safari... I feel it's underused on the whole

Flash Player
Being able to sync via Wifi
Being able to download any small files (updates, podcasts, music videos, other videos) from itunes via Wifi
Scrolling info for all files (music, photos, videos, etc)
Being able to delete files (muisc, photos, etc) on the fly from ipod touch
Being able to edit (add, delete, rename, etc) playlists from the ipod touch
Being able to use the ipod touch as hard drive so you dont have to only use itunes to add files to it
Being able to disable cover flow
Being able to disable the accelerometer so that its only in one mode horizontal or veritcal (messes up too much and doesnt recognize you have moved the player to horizontal or vice versa)
Being able to use all or most apps in horizontal mode (especially mail, maps and maybe notes)

1. Flash Player for Safari
2. Fix all the bugs (there are a lot!)
3. 3rd Party Apps
4. Downloading music videos on Wifi
5. Copy and Paste
6. Ability to change background of home screen
7. Downloadable home themes
8. Being able to see the full name of your song
There are a lot? There are some things we would like extended upon (eg the name doesnt rotate, but to say that they are bugs isn't fair to the programmers... I'd say the touch is almost bug free, and very feature free, thats all)

Not much different from the other suggestions. Also can come in different updates not just restricted to one update (there will be several updates over the years). Lastly, which feature or function doesnt drain the battery on the ipod touch???
While I'm at it one more addition to my list: web clips for music videos and tv shows on the home screen

I've only used my iPod touch for a couple of days so my list is not that long. One of them has already been mentioned, too.
1) Sync via WiFi (at least contacts and calendar, if not music)
2) Screen auto-dimming without auto-locking
Item 2 is a pain in the neck for me. Every time the screen goes blank, I have to hit the top button and then slide the bar to unlock it. The way I use my iPod touch, I don't need screen auto-locking at all. When I do need it, I will just hit the top button myself. The screen should just automatically dim after xx minutes and come back alive when tapped.

I understand what you are wanting. You want an email notification in the top status bar where the WIFI logo, time ect ect. is located. I think it would be nice if they did this so you can see if an email arrived while your doing another activity like surfing the web, or listening to music.

So, what you most like too see included in the future 1.1.4 update?
Speculating what's to come is fun! So this is what I'd love to see added to the next update...
Sorry if I repeat anything anyone else has already mentioned. I admit I didn't read through the post. However these are the most important things I'd love to see changed anyway, so here go's.
Wallpaper.. No not just the start screen wallpaper, I mean the palm / desktop wallpaper.
Secondly an internet radio app that is also tied to the iTunes store. Just imagine being able to buy songs as you hear them on your favorite internet radio station. iTunes may be good now, but with the way I think it should work, sales would go through the store's virtual roof!
Ability to add sound effects, especially to the mail application. Man would I just love to add that mail sound effect from Eurotrip! I'd also like an option to autocheck email in less than 15 minutes time.. Even Gmail notifier made by Google itself can check in real time. Would asking for 3-5 minute checks be asking to much?
Ok this one's a long shot but I'd like to see games like Uno or Battleship make their way to the iPod Touch. However they wouldn't just be playable offline, think online play much like Xbox Live, or much like how games are played on the Nintendo DS (minus the annoying friend codes.) I think the iPod Touch would be the perfect platform for online multi player based parlor games as well.
This one would be a biggie for me.. How about if they actually used the iPhone / Touch formated Google search instead of the search results showing up on a page formatted for full size web browsers. I would have thought after Google's efforts that Apple would have updated Google search to use the iPhone version.. How'd they miss this one?
Ok one last one.. (well at least for this post) I'd love the ability to turn off the accelerometer. I'm sure I'm not alone on that one...
For the email POP client, some very basic new features. Allow me to:
1. Create a new folder
2. Empty the trash
3. Sort the email
4. Don't download attachments the touch can't read-ask first
For the youtube client:
1. Sort by date added
2. Keep a favorite searches list

This is not impossible, in fact there is a working SIP application that works on jailbroken iPod's. Someone is also selling a very ghetto looking mic that takes advantage of the the touches mic line in. I think a mic for the Touch will be inevitable.
Also bare in mind all other iPod's that can be recorded to do not have built in mics either.

True, true. Nearly all the past iPods up to now had the voice record function, Apple just didn't broadcast the fact for one reason or another. And daihard's right, you can email pictures from the Photos app, and if you want to email a picture from the web there's always ImageMailer. The ones I'm really hoping for are the ability to download podcasts from iTunes WiFi and Flash. Although with the YouTube app I don't really miss Flash so much, since video is all I care about using it for. I sure don't miss seeing the ads on web sites. :p

If so that is already available with the current software upgrade you can click on a picture in your ipod and it gives you an option to send as a email attachment. I hadn't thought of this yet, but yes it would be nice.
I know that some users don't care for the email option but I am really finding this handy because I can check all my accounts at once and it is fast. It would be nice to delete multiple messages though. I wish there was a delete key on the keyboard but have no idea where they'd put it.

If you're looking for mass delete, you should be using IMAP and just do it on your computer. I think as a mobile device, the iPod Touch isn't going to have a ton of options - it's designed to be streamlined and just let you get in, check your emails, and get out. It's not really an organizing tool, in my opinion...

I'd like to be able to set mail preferences individually. For instance, you can currently only set the same mail check option (either manual or every xx minutes) on all mail accounts. I maintain three mail accounts, one of which (work mail) requires VPN connection. Therefore, it would be very nice if I could set my two personal mail accounts to check mail automatically while leaving the work account to be checked manually.

Home Page Option to Turn Bluetooth on and off (1 click) - or better yet shortcut to any function (like the safari bookmarks) on the homescreens.
Ability to rotate any application that uses the keyboard. I am way more accurate when holding the keyboard in landscape. Like SMS... I killed the mail client and added a shortcut to gmail simply for the rotating...

Every update I have received including 1.1.4 has been completely free. I have an iPhone, but the only reason iPod Touch users had to pay was because of the included applications. Google releases Maps for free on certain platforms, but you had better believe Apple had to pay Google to custom develop Maps specifically for this platform. Its not like Apple went to Google and said ... "Hey why don't you send us some of your programmers so they can work with our guys on the custom version, and we will throw in pizza". What you are paying for with that update was the inclusion of a few programs INCLUDING Google Maps. So, I can understand why Apple charged Touch users. Little updates like copy and paste should be free just as it has always been on the iPhone.

I want compilations filtering in the artist list.
It's great that coverflow does this. But I don't understand why the artist list doesn't.
allow me to 'splain it to you.
compilations often consists of albums with all different artists. i, for one, do NOT want to clutter up my list of artists with a bunch of groups that i only have 1 song for. that would make my artist list ridiculous. instead, i want it to show up only in compilations, where i can find them, and not clutter up my artist list, so i can find full albums there.
it works exactly as designed, for that reason.
peace!
