Help! I'm using a Palm PDA and syncing to my secretary's PC. I plan on using 'PocketCopy' (http://www.chapura.com/pocketcopy.php) to bring my calendar and contacts from the Palm Desktop into Outlook on the PC.

I then plan on syncing the iPhone or Touch with Outlook on the PC and all the info should then sync to the iPhone. However, my plan is to then start syncing the iPhone with my Mac, and bypass the PC completely.

Here's the issue: How do I transfer the calendar and contacts from the iPhone or Touch to my Mac? The goal of course is to have everything on the Mac and I will be able to routinely sync the Mac and iPhone properly. I don't believe Senuti moves the pda calendar and contact data from the iPhone or Touch to the Mac, only music, podcasts, etc.

I'm stymied.

Thanks!

Just found this question after a search. I've got the same problem, new computer. All my contacts and calendar's are on my iPod Touch, how can I get them from there to iCal and Address Book?

Rygold, I've found the answer after continuing with the search. It's worked for me, hope it does for you too.
Well, the first time you sync your iPhone to your Mac, you will be given the opportunity to sync back the PIM data (calendar, contacts, bookmarks) and either merge it with any information currently in the Mac applications (ie, iCal & Address Book), or replace anything in those applications.

If you haven't actually setup any data in iCal or Address Book on your new Mac, you can select "Replace Info" safely enough and the information from your iPhone's calendar and address book will be transferred to your Mac.

Other content such as music and videos will be removed and replaced with the corresponding content from the iTunes library on your new Mac, so you'll want to either transfer your iTunes library from your PC separately, or look to a tool that can recovery this information from your iPhone (www.findleydesigns.com has one of the few applications for this I'm aware of that is iPhone compatible, although if you also have a traditional iPod model there are numerous other software applications for this as well).

See our August 2, 2007 Ask iLounge Column (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/ask-ilounge-8-2-07/) for more information on syncing an iPhone to a new/different computer.

You shouldn't need Pocket Copy to get stuff into Outlook from the Palm. Most Palm devices sold in the last few years had native Outlook Sync. You may need to reload Hot Synch and specify Oulook as the conduit (you may be able to change this in the preferences for the Palm, I can't remember).
