Sorting Podcasts

I'm looking for a way to sort podcasts on my ipod using some other way than their release date. I've tried creating playlists and smartplaylists but when i load them onto my ipod it seems they are 'resorted' by their release date. This is very frustrating as im trying to listen to them in a specfic order. Please help!!

There is no way to sort Podcasts in the iPods Podcast menu, but the order can be set in playlists. In iTunes add and select the column headers you wish to sort them by then sync the iPod again. I have heard where some require right clicking the playlist and choosing "Copy to play order" before syncing, I've never need to do this.
