View Full Version : Canadian wanting to buy Etymotic ER6i's
...But I'm having some difficulty doing just that.
Amazon.com won't ship them to Canadian address, buying direct for Etymotic is twice the price as Amazon and ships using UPS Ground (which has caused me unexpected cost problems in the past) and I can't find any Canadian retailers selling them.
Any fellow Canadian ER6i owners care to share how they got theirs or whether they've seen them in certain stores? I'm in Ottawa.

Hi and welcome to iLounge.
Although I don't know if they specifically carry the ER6i's, I know that Bay Bloor Radio here in Toronto generally has a pretty decent selection of high-end earphones.
Another option is Long & McQuade, which does carry Etymotic products, but again I don't know specifically about the ER6i's.
If you can't find them anywhere in Canada specifically, another option might be to call Etymotic directly and ask them to ship via U.S. Mail rather than UPS. It's a slower and higher-risk way of doing it (if they get lost, chances are Etymotic will not take any responsibility for the shipment), but would save you any of UPS' silly brokerage charges.
Thanks for the welcome.
I've tried Long & McQuade here in Ottawa, and they don't carry the ER6i's. I'm in Toronto this March, so if I'm patient I might wait and try Bay Bloor Radio (but I'll confirm if they carry them first).
I'm not sure I'm enough of a risk taker to chance U.S. mail...
I might try and ask a U.S. pal if I can ship from Amazon to them to take advantage of their $75 price...

Hi,
I was able to get the ER-6i's from Amazon when I stayed in the states for a week. I haven't used this vendor but it looks like the best price in Canada.

No affiliation with them.

Hi All
I am an audiologist and I sell etymotic products including earphones (ER-4, ER-6i, ER-6i isolator, etc.) as part of my practice. I don't always have them in stock but I can get them relatively quickly. I can also make custom monitors (e.g. Wetone ES - series) See www.heartoronto.ca. I don't sell online at the moment but if you phone me I can do a phone order. Also, for in-person purchases, you will be enrolled in my hearSafe program which provides a full hearing evaluation at the time of purchase and follow up tests for 2 additional years (see http://www.heartoronto.ca/HearSafe.aspx for details).
Thanks

Hi,
Did you find the earphones? I am also looking to buy them in Canada, but can't seem to find a reseller.
Thanks!
