I just bought the USA Spec unit and have some trouble installing it. Can anyone offer some tips on where to mount the adapter and how to run the wire that connects to the ipod?

I'm not that familiar with electrical wiring, and don't want to do anything that would have something rattle or damage wires in the long run. The directions look simple enough, but not sure on where to mount and where to run the wires.

Thanks

I mounted mine with 3M Super Duty Dble sided tape under the shifter/cup holder panels, there are OEM cable clips which I used to secure the cables. One cable went to the head ,the other was long enough to reach the glove box for the ipod.I've been thinking of buying the proclip mount & installing it in the armrest compartment, that way getting to the ipod would be easier.Sorry I dont have pix of my install.

I've done a dry run of taking the shifter trim, ash tray, and center cubby out. I unplugged the XM cable that was plugged into the AUX port and plugged in the USA Spec plug into the AUX and connected the XM radio to the USA Spec femaile port. The problem I had was the XM and female port dangled into the bottom bay. I wish I took a picture of it for a better description. I was not able to get the factory radio out because there was clip somewhere in the front center of unit holding it to the compartment, and I could not get it free. I had to unplug and plug the wires into the AUX without removing the head unit. Will leaving the XM and femail port dangle a problem down the road, Im worried that the metal frame will cut the wire.

How do you get into the shifter/cup holder panels to mount the adapter unit? DId you drill any holes for the iPOD Connector?

Thanks

I also had a spare plug that was not used as well,I zip tided it & wrap the end of the connection with electrical tape.I drilled no holes but I must mention that I'm not familiar with the Hondas,I wish I had pix but I dont.I ordered a mount from Proclip which lets u secure the docking cable to the bottom of the mount,it'll look similar to a FM transmitter when setup. The Proclip is going to be installed inside the armrest/center console compartment for which I will have to drill a hole to pass the cable thru.If u can post pix or maybe someone with a Honda can chime in.

Does anyone know if I velcro the usa spec adapter on the side of the center console, will the cubby fit back in?
