My new 8GB iPod Touch is acting..strange. Sometimes it just randomly deletes songs and videos from the iPod that i've just put on there.

So far it's only happened when the iPod has lost all of it's battery life. Anyway to fix this/Get my songs/videos back?

I've not heard of random deletions. I might suggest you perform a restore of your iPod Touch. I also would not suggest draining your battery down to empty regularly. I don't believe it's good for the batteries...

Yeah.

I honestly don't mean to, but i'm in a band on tour in the north, and the cold seems to zap my batteries like nobodies business.

But thanks for the advice.

Drop $50 on a refurbed iPod shuffle and save the iPod Touch for the indoors :)

apparently storing the battery at 0C has significant benefit. I am really curious as to how using the battery in low temperatures has a different effect.

Anyways, the bottom line is don't let your battery discharge completely constantly. It might be good every month or two, depending on your use(this re-calibrates the battery meter, which actually has nothing to do with the actual battery life. Over time it gets more and more inaccurate, where it thinks the battery is lower than it might actually be. fully discharging would likely solve this problem)

As for losing songs...I do know that on my Axim 51V, a lot of things would reset if the battery is left without charge for over 5 minutes.
