Help Connecting Ipod Touch To Itunes On Mac

ok, ive tried everything. restored my ipod touch, reinstalled itunes, everything you can think of. i dont even get the error message when you connect it with the usb cable. simply nothing happens when i connect it to the computer. itunes just stays closed and the ipod just goes to sleep. i am beginning to think that the problem is the usb cable. but i really hope that i dont have to buy a new one. please help me!!

Well, even if it was the USB cable, that's what warranties are for.

Second, you haven't give us information regarding your configuration - what Mac? what operating system? what version of iTunes? are you connecting directly to the computer? connecting to the keyboard or a hub? Have you tried it on another computer?
