Happy New Year, iPodders!

Hope some of you here ca please advise......

I bought a Classic 160GB just before XMas and it works great.....overall happy with it.

However, last nite I was watching some QT tutorial movies on my Mac at home and started thinking that it would be great to watch them or other videos wherever I am located.

While I can do this with my Classic, I thought wouldn't it be much better watching them on a larger display such as the Touch, hence this post....

I still have a little time left to exchange my Classic for a Touch at BestBuy....

What do you Toucherati think???

Obviously, I'd give up a lot of storage capacity, but think I can deal with that....

Any other issues that I ought to consider before making such a move???

Thanks for any and all input!!!

Mark

Depends on what's more important to you. Lots of storage or the ability, with a jailbroken Touch, to get most of the features of an iPhone (other than the ability to make phone calls and take pictures). I love having wi-fi and being able to check e-mail, get maps, have a calendar, create notes, etc.

Thank for your thoughts, Chunk!

As I wrote, storage is not an issue now....besides videos, surfing/email, etc sounds great too...

Anyone else have any comments?

I think Chunk has said it all. The screen size is perfect for watching videos

Do not let storage be a determining factor. As long as you can get WIFI you can access your videos/music online. Programs like Orb for your music - or even create a website for your videos and stream them to your Ipod Touch.

I personally think too many people make an issue of space. Yeah I think 8 GB might be a little small - that's why I have the 16 GB version. I can take a decent library of audio/video and have a wealth of apps and if I need more then I'll start looking at hosting a personal site that I can access via wifi for my library of files. Until then - it's perfect.

The biggest reason I went with the Touch over the Classic is screen size. I had the classic and it's ok for watching content in a pinch but nothing like the Touch. It's like comparing a old 4:3 CRT to the latest 16:9 widescreen. No comparison.

Don't even need to jailbreak it to make it a whole new machine...the thing is amazing compared to the classic in terms of interface and useability..does have a little bit of a learning curve if you are used to the touch wheel..but once you get used to it you'll find it much more enjoyable than the iPod Classic.

Mines having a few issues with syncs..but I'm hoping I resolved them.

I too came from a 160gb classic and have no problems managing audio on a 16GB iPod Touch..I'm not a big movie person but am a huge audio fan...cutting back wasn't so bad I still have 8GB of free space and I haven't even completely gutted my library there are still quite a few songs on here I could live without.
