I'm not sure if this has been posted or even documented, but I found a really easy way to delete videos after you watch them right on the touch (without having to go to iTunes and resync.

While lookining at the listing of your videos, swipe the title from right to left OR left to right and you'll see a red 'Delete' button.

Press the button to delete your video to free up space (i.e. for if you needed to install apps/iTunes music, etc. on the fly)

Works for Movies and video Podcasts. Won't work for audio files (from what I can tell).

That's correct - audio files & photos can only be deleted via a sync with iTunes. This also works for mail messages if you've installed Apple Mail...

The problem with deleting videos this way is you also lose the playcount. It creates problems when you are relying on sync settings to delete podcasts from iTunes and/or transfer TV Shows on to the touch.

It does make me wonder if Apple is thinking about the ability to download the rumored video rentals or podcasts through the WiFi Store. Then this feature would be even more useful.

LOL - I'm a typical guy - I don't read manuals :)

I actually hope that Apple does NOT allow video downloads. If you do the math it doesn't make sense. I mean videos run about 1.2-1.6GB for videos from the iTunes Store. The math from BlackWolf shows Wi-Fi will last you about 3 hours (http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=215227). You're downloading it over wireless. I mean by the time you get the video down, you won't have enough battery left to watch it. And if you figure that 1/2 the time the download would fail and the default would be that you'd have to download it via iTunes anyways... and that of course would cost Apple more bandwidth for the movie blah blah blah... It just doesn't make sense...

Wouldn't you think deleting a video off the Touch would also delete it from iTunes when you sync? It doesn't. Too bad as that would be useful.
