There's still quite a lot of scepticism (sp?) about the authenticity of the video + screenshots.

yep, but the google maps feature is almost a given since other phones actually acquired it before the iphone did. Being able to move icons around is pretty fundamental to customization so that is not too far fetched, but what about wallpapers and themes? Time to get the iphone on par with full user customization like what has been available via jailbreak for months now.

I think to combat the third party community most successfully Apple would need to create better apps than the ones that are currently available. It seems like a simple solution.

The SMS could be improved tenfold IMO :) That iSMS app is great, and seriously making me consider jailbreaking mine:

the battery suffers when you jailbreak so keep that in mind. None of the third party apps know how to properly manage power resourcesvery efficiently.
