Well I dont know if this approach has been mentioned so i hope i dont sound dumb in this thread haha, but this the approach i have taken. Obviously the bass in some songs is too much for the iPhone speaker, so what I have done in my ringtones that i make is just take out the bass in the equalizer with my sound editing software. So to replicate this for all songs on the iPod on the iPhone, I just changed the EQ on the iPhone to "Bass Reducer". Now all my songs have less bass and thus the sound isn't distorted on my music.

Once again it's:

Settings>iPod>EQ>Bass Reducer

Hope this helps.

how do you edit the bass from ringtones

Well I use Sound Forge for PC. To Edit the Bass on Ringtones I simply noticed the Equalizer in iTunes. If you display the EQ in iTunes and set it for a song to Bass Reducer, you can see how it changes the EQ tabs for the song. So in Sound Forge I just used a Graphic Equalizer to replicate the same look of a bass reduction in iTunes.

Cheers!

contrary to what other have said about the V-moda bass reflex the 3.5 mm jack will not fit in the recessed port of the iphone.

I love these headphones. If you like hiphop/dance/techno/r&B you will love these headphones.
