I just got an iPhone for Xmas and I'm trying to figure out how to get it to play in my car without losing the ability to receive calls. I have a monster icar play FM transmitter that works but I obviously have to turn it on airplane mode unless I want irritating buzzing noises mixed in with my music. The next option would be a cassette tape adapter which I've found still has problems with buzzing noises and the sound quality is terrible.

If the fact I still have a cassette player in my car doesn't give it away, I do not have an AUX line-in on the dash. I do have a fairly old CD changer that I stopped using after I bought the ipod mini.

What I want to know is what options do I have to dock the iphone so that it plays in the car (with good quality) and I can still receive calls. I was told by an associate at a local electronics store that I could buy the cheapest CD player with a AUX input jack and have it installed to replace the cassette player. Then I read about some deivce by P.I.E. that you plug into the back of your factory stereo where the CD changer goes and gives you an AUX input for the iphone/ipod. So are these my only options? Has anyone made a DIY iphone car dock or purchased one for a reasonable price?

Any input from car stereo gurus and DIY iphone car dock makers would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have found that that Griffin TuneFlex for the ipod works great. You do get a message that says it is not compatible but I always say no to turing on airplane mode. It also has a dock connector at the bottom you can use the Scosche iPod Wireless RF Car Remote. Between these two items, it is a great car solution for the Iphone.

Thanks, I'll take a look at the TuneFlex... do you have a aux input in your car that you connect it to or do you use an FM transmitter? I know my monster icarplay fm transmitter has way too much interference and I wonder if the Scosche iPod Wireless RF Car Remote would have the same problem.
