Help with ipod shuffle - driving me crazy!

hi all,

i bought my friend a 2nd gen shuffle for xmas. Since then i have been trying to put songs on it! lol

whenever i drag and drop playlists onto the shuffle symbol my pc freezes up whilst it says 'syncing ipod do not disconnect' and after a few moments i get the message 'the ipod "IPOD" cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found.

Could any clever soul please offer any assistence here as to how i may resolve this issue. I am not very computer savvy but with a little guidence can usually carry out the required procedures.

Thats the exact same problem I used to have (one of them at least) with my own Shuffle.

Once I switched to plugging it in to the back USB ports of my computer, ALL my problems went away and now my Shuffle works like a charm.

For some reason, my Shuffle didnt like the front USB ports. Try that and see if it makes any difference. Or if youre already plugging in the back, try the front. Switch it up and it could help.

i had this same problem and this is a weird fix but after many hours trying to fix it i just decided to find something other than itunes to sync music to it and found mediamonkey and that worked great...then i tried syncing with itunes and it worked! so i uninstalled mediamonkey and it stopped working so i was like wtf?! and apparently the "fix" is enabling it for disk use......
