ringtones help

Just created a ringtone through itunes. It shows on itunes under the ringtones folder of my iphone. I can not find it anywhere on my phone. I went to settings-sounds-ringtones but it does not show up there. I click on a contact and try to change the ringtones but it does not show there either..any help out there for me..

I'm at work and can't see my iPhone screen, but isn't there a ringtones tab when you connect your iPhone to iTunes? Do you have to select it to sync to the iPhone? I created a ringtone through iTunes and I think I had to tell it to sync to my iPhone and it showed up fine.

tried that..it shows up everywhere but my phone.

We are both talking about the tabs that come up on the right after you connect the iPhone (Music, Podcasts, Videos, etc.), not the ringtone category that's listed at the left of the screen. Just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing. I poked around looking for a screenshot, but can't find one.
