Sorry as I am sure this has been covered a million times. I am looking for a stereo system that has an IPOD dock for a third gen Nano, a radio tuner, and even has the ability to play CDs.

I have looked at stores but only found really cheap looking systems (iSymphony, JVC). I am looking for something that is under $500 and that sounds great. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

OK,

Through some serious reading and a change in requirements, I am thinking about the Logitech Pure-Fi Elite High performance system. The only thing that it does not have is the CD player, but I think it is time I got away from CDs anyway. Anyway the reviews are great and the price is around $150 (Staples.com). I am going to try and track one down to see if it is the one.

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Now that my requirements have changed, any suggestions would be nice as well.

I have that system and absolutely love it. The sound is great, there is a sleep timer, remote, am/fm radio, etc. I think for a 3d generation ipod it may not be dockable, but you should check on that since I'm not sure. $150 is definitely a great price on it, as it retails for around $300. It's not really portable, though - no battery and it's heavy, so it's more of a stationary system. Hope that helps!

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback. I solved my portability issue. I ended up buying a Harman Kardon Play + Go on boxing day as I got it for $179. I really like this unit, but still plan on investing on a Logitech Pure-Fi Elite High performance system. The Play and go will be perfect for when I go camping, road trips, etc. It also sounds great...better then I expected. For another system, I want to more of a permanent fixture in my home. The Logitech will be perfect for that.

Also, I read on the logitec site that you can just use one of the other dock adapters for the 3G nano. It doesn't really matter though. The Play and Go doesn't have anything to make docking easer for the 3G nano, but it works if you mount it carfully.
