When I convert videos using videora ipod touch converter, The videos turn gray when the screen is completely black. I know its not the famed inverted blacks problem, because it happens when I watch the videos on itunes. Does anyone know what the deal is?

Yeah, Videora video converting applications suck. They don't produce the best quality, they are slow, and they use dated methods/encoders. Try converting a video with something else like ImToo, Cucusoft, or Nero Recode 2 (the last being the absolute best but it is not free).

It seems to depend what are you converting from. I find MPEG always converts well but wmv I get the grey black to start with but does clear.

I have found Videora to be an okay free piece of software, but I now use Super for short clips (i.e. music videos) and Handbrake for TV Shows and other multi-chapter vids.

The ads on videora wouldn't even let me run the program smoothly. Sorry that it doesn't help your problem, but give Super by erightsoft a try.

I luv Videora. Never had an issue with it at all. I use it to convert any video file I have to mpeg4. Playback is smooth and clear. I use a 2 pass conversion.

For DVD conversion, I use DVD Fab Platinum 6.1. It has different modes depending on which version of the iPod you have, including the iPod Touch.
