Yesterday when I plugged in my earphone to my iPod touch i couldn't hear a thing from my left side earphone and I tried the bundled white one but had same result. Then I tried my earphones with my other mp3 and pc and they worked fine. Should I return this to apple and will I get refurbished one and the last question to anyone have got refurbished iPod touch. How do you think about it compare to the one just came from factory.

p.s should I restore it? Mine is jailbroken

Are you making sure that your headphones are plugged all the way in? I know it is a simple question and solution but you must always look at the simplest solution first. If you are properly plugging them in then I would restore it. You will need to restore it anyway as Apple won't help you with jailborken iPods. If restoring it doesn't fix anything then it sounds like a hardware problem that Apple can help you with. If you iPod was purchased less than 14 days ago then you can exchange it and get a new one (it must be purchased from a Apple store or from Apple.com though, other retailers have extended return periods now). If your iPod was purchased more than 14 days ago then simply take it in with your receipt and they will try to replicate the problem. If they can replicate it then they will give you a refurbished model. If they don't have any refurbs in the back they will give you a brand new one.

I wouldn't worry about getting a refurbished iPod touch as they are still too new. Any refurbished model more than likely had the negative black screen issue and Apple put a new screen in it. The battery definitely wouldn't be run down and any other hardware problem with the unit would have been fixed. Apple tests every refurbished iPod to make sure they are up to par with the same standards (if not more) than normal in box items.
