Do you have to buy the movies from itunes or can you rip your own dvds and sync them to the touch? Thanks

You can do both. If you want to rip DVDs, search Google for Handbrake - the software works on both Mac & PC and allows you to rip DVDs to your computer in a format that can be uploaded directly to your iPod Touch...
