The touch recognises that there is a wifi network there but when I go into Safari I get the 'safari can't open this page beacuse it can't find the server message'. I have put in all the IP address information etc manually into the iPod from my computer but still it's not working. However the router part is still blank. I think this may be the problem. But how do I get the information for the router?

The default address for most home routers is 192.168.2.1. However, it sounds like the DHCP isn't configured correctly on your router. You might want to try to get into your router settings page. Go to http://192.168.2.1/ and enter your default username & password for the router. A default set of router logins can be found at http://www.routerpasswords.com/
