Hey,

I currently have a Power Support Crystal Jacket and is great except for one major pet peeve I have for it, the junk that gathers under the plastic that covers the front portions of the phone is amazing. It completely ruins the good looks of such an expensive phone, and is real irritating.

I have decided to look for a better case and while I am leaning towards the Contour Showcase I am also considering the iSkin. While both are highly recommended by many I have some questions I'm curious about before I buy one of them....

-Contour Showcase: Does any junk get under the plastic like it does on my Power Support Crystal Jacket? Remember, this is the whole reason I'm getting rid of the Power Support Crystal Jacket.

-And for the iSkin Revo: I heard one person complain that the case is too tight of a fit for the phone leading to scratch marks on the iPhone. I obviously really wouldn't want this. Is it true?

Thanks a lot for the help,
Peacee

I Love my C.S.. It would be perfect if it did not build up junkc under the front clear plastic making the phone look cheap/dirty. I am currently searching for another case for this reason.

Well, I think you need a case that covers every part of the iPhone for that not to happen. I own the Showcase as well. I'm more curious how the iPhone fares if i were to drop it on it's corner from four feet to concrete. It looks like the Showcase would absorb the blow, but I'd like someone to testify.

It was almost kinda funny because of the timing...

The day after I bought and put my iPhone into the Contoured Showcase, I stopped at Starbucks on my way to work. Thinking of warm, caffeinated thoughts about my latte that I was waiting for...I held it a little higher than usual to take a picture of a co-worker. Then, I dropped it. It fell about 5 feet to the ground. But it didn't stop there. Because of the angle that it hit the ground or some other aspect of the fall....it started to roll across the floor as soon as it hit the ground, stopping after it had rolled 10 feet.

Did the drop and rolling across the floor have any impact on my iPhone or on the case?

Absolutely none.

2 other thoughts though, about the Contour Showcase:

Dirt and other junk does build up under the clear plastic windows on the Showcase, and the plastic scratches way too easily.

I took my iPhone out of the Showcase the other day and noticed a number of scratches/marks on one particular side of my phone. I'm 100% positive that they weren't there before I got the Showcase and I know that they weren't there after I had dropped the phone (as mentioned above). Something about the fit of the Showcase is causing damage.

It's because of those 2 reasons that I'm looking for another case. I'm hoping to be able to find something that will fit in the Pro.Fit miCradle.

Yeah, I've read a few other Showcase owners complain about the dirt accumulation. I'll keep an eye on the iPhone. It's pretty damn snug inside the case, so I don't see how it could scratch the sides of the iPhone, but time will tell.

However, you've answered my initial question.. It seemed that your Showcase protected your iPhone during the five foot drop onto concrete.

My wife doesn't like any case on her iPhone, but she'll thank me when the inevitable day comes that she will drop it onto concrete. We plunked $500 for that 16GB iPhone so it deserves a some kind of case.

Oh, an update, yes, she finally dropped the iPhone onto concrete. The Showcase took the hit, but the iPhone is perfect!
