New to the Ipod World, PLEASE HELP! (about jailbreaking)

Ive watched a few vids on youtube about jailbreaking my ipod touch but one thing still worries me, and its about my ipod bricking. IF it does completly brick up, can i still run system restore on it? IS IT SAFE TO JAILBREAK MY IPOD? Thanks for any help

Also, i havent bought the Ipod yet, and the videos i have watched have showed how to jailbreak a 1.1.1 ipod, if my ipod comes with 1.1.2 installed on it, how can i downgrade to 1.1.1. Is it hard?

Never heard about anyone bricking their Ipod during a jailbreak; "force restore" will always bring your Ipod back if it should freeze.

There are Youtube videos and instructions on the Internet on how to downgrade to 1.1.1 to jailbreak your Ipod and then upgrade back to 1.1.2; I just did it 2 weeks ago.

iPhones have gotten bricked but iPod Touches can always be fully restored.

i havent seen iphones get bricked either, they always seem to be restored via ibrickr or something else.
