The iPod mini I bought for my husband was shipped by Apple on 2/16, and according to Fed-ex's web site it's now in Indianapolis, IN. (I live in Sacrmamento, CA)...

Still anxiously waiting--his birthday was last Sunday.

Yikes...my husband is not a car salesman, it was the first card I pulled from my purse to take the picture, its from the guy we bought both of our VWs from. Any-who, its all charged up and set-up was flawless, hubby is sitting in the corner listening to the Pixies and muttering "how did I ever live without one of these"

hey all. I was also able to get my brand new ipod mini yesterday, tue. the 17th. from my university computer store. they said they werent allowed to sell them yet but they said they would anyways. as well, i received an academic discount with a price of $220!!!!!!

Well I just received mine, and it was slated for delievery tomorrow (2/20/04). I was checking the status this morning and to my surprise it was in Greensboro this morning heading my way.

This baby is so small....love it. The new scroll wheel is a winner. No doubt the next iPod will have it. I intend on keeping my 15GB iPod and I will use this mini for working out. My iTunes library is just a little over 6GB so I will have no trouble fitting most of my music on this sucker.

For those that ordered one....it is worth the wait. And Steve was right, pictures do not do this thing justice. Fits great in the hand.

Another great design from Apple, this thing will be a winner.

I took some pictures, but my cable to load the pics is at home. I will post them up on my website (http://www.bradperkins.net) around lunchtime. Any request for comparison? I took some with a business card and my Samsung a530.

If your iTunes library is to large for you mini, iTunes will create a "iPod Mini selection" playlist for your little guy.....nice touch Apple.

Odd about the belt clip. I assumed it would be the same color as the Mini, but perhaps the photo I got that assumption from (the one where you see someone in jeans with a pink mini clipped to the belt--it matches their pink top) was misleading?

My gold mini is charging up now -- everybody here at work already digs it.

Hint: Do NOT slide the mini in and out of the belt clip (or arm band) -- you are supposed to push it down into place, and then pull it straight out. Otherwise, you can damage the rubber nodule that holds it in place, over time.

I doubt any pic I would take of my gold mini (which finally just stopped charging btw, WOOOT!) would be better than the professional ones Apple has on their site, to be frank. I mean, it's gold -- it looks freaking swank. I'm sure all the other colors do as well. We ain't talking Blue Dalmatian and Flower Power here. ;)

I have a question about how these work.

Is there any difference in how the mini handles tracking of played songs on the iPod and reporting that back to iTunes? I want to create a smart playlist of songs I haven't heard in the past month, and for that to work properly, the mini and iTunes have to share "last played" information, as they do in the 3G iPods.

Also, do the minis have "On the Fly" playlists like the 3Gs?

I got mine as well. Just wondering, is there some way to reduce/extend the time period between when you are browsing notes and when the Now Playing screen reappears after a bout of inactivity? Or a button that does it? It'd be a handy thing to have.

Edit: Oh, also, is there a way to delete on-the-go playlists? I can't seem to find a method.

I got my silver mini from the apple store on friday and love it. I just have to get new headphone for it. Thinking about the bose triport ones. I had to retire my 1 gen 5 gb:( (great times) but i love the mini even more.
