Charging + Line Out = Disappointment : (

Hey,

I've been looking through the boards all night and it seems no one has asked this question... I have my iPod hooked up to my PC through firewire AND to my stereo with the line out on the dock. This way I can transfer songs and charge (and I THOUGHT listen) at the same time. Is there any way to get the iPod to play while docked and connected to the PC???? Whenever I disconnect it, it just says "OK to disconnect" with the check mark, but I can't play songs. If anyone knows of a way to remedy this, please reply : )

That is a common complaint about firmware version 2.1 (the latest). It no longer allows you to control the iPod while docked to your PC. To play it thru your stereo system you will have to unplug the dock from your PC. You could hookup the firewire cable to your AC adapter to keep the iPod charged as you play thru your stereo.

Everyone is hoping they remove this restriction in the next firmware release.
