Are you overall happy you spent the $$$ on the touch instead of getting a classic or waiting for a 2nd gen touch?

some people complain about flash memory space. well, if you are hungry for a big space, why don't you buy ipod classic? you don't have to carry such a big list on your ipod all the time. your mac or PC has that all, right? I think that 8, 16GB is just fine for everyday use. even during travelling, it's OK. what you have to do is just making smart playlist. so when you sync, smart playlist will replace new content all the time into yours.
anyway, I really like it. it has fresh new interface, multi touch, internet capability, buying songs wirelessly, etc. what do you want more?
I think that it will be updated few more apps like iphone next macworld 2008 (Jan). if I wish, I want to get mail, weather, google map, stock, note pad, sms texting.

What would I change about the iPod touch? I'd like to see a notepad feature added, and also, the ability to download podcasts (video and audio) from the iTunes Wi-Fi store.

Absolutely.
My music library is small as is so the 8GB Touch would have sufficed (I sprung for the 16GB because of movies)
The massive space of the Classic is of no interest to me and it's nice to try out this new technology.
Waiting for a 2nd gen Touch? Sure I'm going to regret missing out on it. But Apple comes out with newer and greater things on a yearly basis so it rarely makes sense to wait it out. I needed a new iPod so I got this version of the Touch and am extremely happy with it.

This is on of the coolest things I have owned. I've sold about 6 of them at work just cause I had it with me. Every post I have made so far has been from my touch.
a 32 gb version would have been good
i would have paid the extra money, and a case included with specifically designed protection is a great idea
