On my computer some .VOB files work and sometimes they don't on handbrake. The files that I try to convert that fail, say 31 frames 100% complete, in a matter of seconds. I really don't know any other way to explain this, but why is this happening?

It sound like the dvd they come from is protected by what is known as zero byte copy protection. Depending on how you ripped it, you may need different or additional software to work around it. Google "zero byte DVD copy protection" for more help.

I use RipItForMe with DVDDecrypter on the Windows side when I'm faced with this. Remember we only crack copy protection for personal use and it is considered illegal in some areas.

I tried that, but it came up saying that it couldn't read the sound files
