Hi,

I just got a cover for my iPod touch and I didn't realise it had a magnetic closing when I ordered it over the net. It has two small magnets on either side of the home button.

Could this cause harm to my iPod?

No, many iPod cases use the small snap magnets. The magnetic field produced by these is not strong enough to cause problems.

Nemesis of x-rayed iPod fame recently posted an image (http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=210434) of his iPhone after being x-rayed and he reports carrying it around MRI machines - so if anything was going to mess up an iPod I guess that would...

The magnets are nowhere near being strong enough to cause any damage to your iPod. Most of my covers have magnetic closures. These are the ones I use regularly for the past 1-2 years on my nanos and iPod video with no ill effects.
