Umm...... i surely hope i am doing something wrong with my new tough, it is my first full day of use (old ipod was a 60gig video). And i just got about 4-5hrs battery life listening to music, and the occasional nes game. is this normal? anything i can do to fix it?

Turn the WiFi off when not using it? Turn the display off when not using it?

I take my USB cable to work to keep it charged up so I'm not sure what the real world battery life is like yet. You should be getting about 20 hours audio and 5 video?

Wi-fi will kill the battery quickly. And if you've jailbroken, SSH runs the battery down too. Need to turn it off.

I get about 6 hours if I use wifi or video heavily. Days where I've had wifi turned off or didn't play any videos (aka just listened to music) I get around 20+ hours of usage or so.

Video and wifi make a huge difference!

Edited to add:

Search is your friend and i found that you gotta download the services.app from the installer.

I was wondering why the heck my ipod s been drained so quickly even though i made sure the wifi s off, and turned it off nightly and made sure the battery was fully charged. thanks everyone.

If you have your ipod jailbroken, then download services.app. If it's not jailbroken then don't worry about ssh.
