This is an excellent start for the mini. This is the initial wave. There is still a big market out there that buys compulsively or needs to see and touch before buying.

In store sales should be strong once it is widely available.

Having had the opportunity to hold an iPod mini for a bit, I must say that it is a JOY, and definitely one of those things you kind of need to check out in person before you fully "get it." With that said, if so many people have ordered BEFORE getting the chance to experience the mini in person -- I can only imagine the success of this product will really make all of the mini nay-sayers pretty embarrassed, even if they never admit to that fact publicly. :)

Hi, since I am in the UK I was gonna have to wait until april to get an iPod mini but have managed to get a friend who is going over to the US to get one for me (on 27th). Since I am gonna want a silver one do you think there will be enough left by then or will they all have gone?? What do you think?

I don't think all the silver ones will be sold out. Apple probably makes more silver iPods than the other colors.
