I use Apple's armband with my nike sport kit for running. The armband is serving me well so far. I use my nano a lot around the house or in the office and don't want to wear the armband all of the time, though. Right now I put my pod in a "sock" I knitted for it. But, the sock doesn't provide as much "crash" protection as I would like and the ipod does slip out of it sometimes.

I'm looking for a case that provides either a belt clip or a lanyard and drop protection. Screen protection would be nice, but I could always use separate protectors for that. Here's the caveat, though, I need to be able to take my pod in/out of the case easily. I want to switch to the armband every day without too much of a fight. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

How easy is it to insert / remove the nano from the apple arm band? I just bought a DLO hip case and it is a struggle to get the nano in, and it was quite an effort to get it out again. Not sure I want to do that on a regular basis.

Thanks,

R

The armband is really easy to get the nano in and out of. It's not tight like a silicon skin would be. It has a velcro "latch" that keeps the nano in place. There are two settings on this latch, one for the nano on its own, the other adjusts for having the nike sport kit in place. I find the armband works best while running when I wear the ipod "upside down" in the armband. It's easier to read the menu this way, and the headphone outlet is facing my head instead of the ground.

I nicked the corner of my nano today when it slipped out of my hands onto my concrete living room floor. Gotta find a better case soon! I would keep it in the armband 24/7 if it weren't for the clumsy strap. I'd really like to find something with a belt clip. I think Macally has some new cases out that might be worth a gander...

I just noticed these thanks to the iLounge newsletter.
How about a belt loop clip option?

Appears to slide out easy enough!

Those cases look like what I'm after. The price isn't bad, either...
