At least probably not a 30gig iPod.

I'm new to the iPodding community, and have found this site quite usefull in the past couple weeks. I picked up my 30 gig iPod (still un-named) on Thursday of last week, and on Saturday it went with me to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.

The new ride this year is Top Thrill Dragster which is the world's tallest (420 feet), and fastest (120mph) coaster on the planet. Well, the wait was about 4 hours to ride the ride, and my iPod definitly kept me company while I waited.

Then, firmly secured in my pocket by the lapbar, my iPod rode with me.

I'll try to get pics next time I go of my iPod ridding rides with me, but cameras aren't allowed on rides, and everyone I usually go with rides.

Anyways, I just wanted to say "hi" to everyone and I look forward to posting here often.

Words cannot describe the rush that you experience being launched. It's like none other. It's more exciting than the fact the ride is 420 feet tall.

It kicks, that's all I can say.

I now know why fighter pilots get a rush from catapault launches from carriers ;)

If you get a chance to get out this way and ride it, it's worth however long you wait in line.

First time I waited 3 hours, second time I waited 4 hours. Worth it each time.

No, they're Nazis about this ride. No hats, or anything that could fly off. And sunglasses and eyewear must be secured by a strap.

Though, I could possibly slip it on really quick while the ride "stages" outside the loading bay.

It'd be a trip jammin' on a ride. I do like the new small size though, fits easily in tight fitting pockets.

And Cedar Point plays the same music over and over, so it's good to have some relief from it.

It sounds like an awesome ride. I'll be making my annual trip to Magic Mountain in So Cal to ride the Viper. I love roller coasters and if I can figure out a way to get my pod on with me even better.

I'm actually going to So Cal in June and heading to Magic Mountain. It's mainly the only reason why I'm going lol.

I hope I haven't been too spoiled with having Cedar Point in my back yard. When I'm home from school, it's only a 30 minute drive. I went 11 times last year, and plan on beating it this. Season passes rock.

Magic Mountain doesnt have the Top Thrill Dragster, but there are like 3 or 4 new coasters just since last season. I'm going in two weeks. Watch for my iPod!

That's cool, but wouldn't you have a guilt trip if it fell out and hit somebody in the head at up to 120 MPH?

I'm going to CP in August, I hope to have my iPod with me by then to sooth the looooong drive.

Eh, it's secure. I'd have to fly out of the ride at 120mph and hit somone for my iPod to be able to leave the ride.

Heh, what better way to test the iPod's anti-shock system than a rollercoaster!

I live in the UK, but I went over to America in '96. My friend (Who I went to see) lives in Ohio, so we travelled to Cedar Point for the day. It was great. The four rides that stick out the most were the Mantis (Which was the ride of '96), the magnum XL (That the right name) the Gemini and the Raven (Or something along those lines..).

It's the Raptor, and yeah, those are all good rides. The Raptor is special because you go inverted 6 times 4 different ways. Fun fun fun.

But wait, wont the ride affect the iPod? After all, it is a hard disk! And you know how fragile these are!

This ride is smoother than a lot of roads I've driven on. Modern technology rocks.

Hmmm... Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever put their iPod into a paint mixer? I'd think that it would test the skip protection like nothing else. I went to the roller coaster in Busch Gardens (florida), 3 times just when the park opened, and my iPod was on me the whole time (old 5 GB)

I hope you're joking!!!
That would ruin the iPod, the hard drive lasers would become unaligned and everything would get screwed up. Those paint mixers shake fast!

Hahah! I'd like to see that! Just pad it well, shake it, then test it! HAHA...
