Albums not playing on iPhone - fine in iTunes

I have quite a few albums that will not play on my iPhone, they play fine in iTunes. all are standard 192kbps mp3s.

When selecting a song to play from an album that does not work, the iphone just sits there at 0:00 not doing anything. If I try to play an album that does work, it also fails if the previous album was a 'broken' one, upon selecting a track from a second working album, playback begins as normal, if I go back to the first working album, this also works ok.

Its as though something gets locked, requiring two working tracks to be played before it kicks in!? very strange.

Any advice on what to do?

I have cleared iTunes and loaded the music back, cleared the ipod and resynced it several times, with the same result.

Maybe there was a syncing hiccup.

First, try removing the files from the iPhone and re-syncing.

I have just done a restore on the iphone, cleared itunes library and started again, exactly the same problem :( What could be wrong? I'm guessing theres nothing wrong with the mp3's, because iTunes is playing them as I type!

iTunes is a lot more forgiving of certain corruption than the iPod is.

I'd suggest reripping the file and resycing and see if that helps.
