Recently i have just bought a Creative sound blaster zs with integrated firewire port and is great. It is like a bonus for me for getting this sound card, other than the nice sound card, I even get to use firewire to work with my iPod, and it works perfectly without any problem. I am using Windows XP Pro. Now I can charge my iPod through the firewire from my PC.

I have a Soundblaster Audigy Platinum with that drive thingy that comes with it. It's great because now i have a firewire port on the front of my computer.
Charging works for me on both the sound card and the drive thing. But i prefer to use the ac adapter.

I have the SB Audigy gamer card with firewire. My iPod connected without a hitch on my 98SE Dell.
Charging works via the sound card.
