Questions on Screen Tints

I was wondering if it was possible to tint your screen by using this http://www.boxwave.com/products/cleartouch/ct_apple_ipod.htm and dye it with rit dye to the right color or will it warp/not stick.

The problems with that is :
1. I wouldnt trust myself taking it apart
2. Voids the warrenty, and I'm getting my ipod in a few days.

Putting the tint behind the screen is really as custom as it gets, but I wouldn't try opening it up either. iShades might be the best alternative (although I've always had a strong bias against his products).

I'm almost certain you could use RIT dye on the screen protectors. It should work just fine. Just be sure not to leave it in too long, as if you do, it has the possibility of dying the translucent plastics into solid colors. Just use whatever color you want and leave it in a bit and it should look great. :D

I didn't think about it but you normally have to heat up your parts with water and dunk... so you'd have to do it so that it's not extremely hot. Just warm enough not to melt the screen protectors. If they are cling type, it should still work. You can always try it and see what happens. Its not like it'd hurt your iPod. :)

go for it! although, that product that you linked isnt really necessary... you can get screen protectors at any staples... i think it's kinda funny its for "touch screens"...

anyway, if you end up doing it, be sure to post pics! id like to see how it turns out... might do it myself if it works..

I've dyed lacrosse sticks w/ RIT dye, make sure you use a "turkey basting" Aluminum pan thinger to dye it in, other wise, oh man your mom will be ####ed.
