hey all - i've had a sony nw-s610 (new one) and converted some videos for it... just wondering if anyone can confirm that if a h.264 video which plays on it will also play on one of the new ipod classics

We can tell you if you give us the information for that video such as: video resolution, video bitrate, audio bitrate, audio frequency (this should be either 44.1KHz or 48KHz), and video profile (baseline low complexity 1.3 or something else). You can get this information by opening the video in QuickTime, clicking on the Window option, then click on Show Movie Inspector. QuickTime will tell you everything except the video profile. You need to look at your encoding software for that.
