I am getting a Wii and I am wondering who has one. What are your fav games for the wii? Is it more or less fun then you thought it would be?

I have one... it's certainly fun, but I can't comment much on games... financial reasons have prevented me from buying any in a very, very long time. There are plenty I'd like to buy, however.

We just bought one for our 12 y/o son for Xmas and it's killing me to not hook it up to the big screen--y'know, for testing purposes.... ;)

Thanks for the input. I can be a hardcore gamer so I will miss some of the games on the Xbox 360 or Playstation. What I want is to get my g/f into gaming and I think the wii seems to be a hit with everyone (both casual and hardcore gamers). Star Wars Force Unleashed is also coming to the wii this summer and a can’t wait to saber-slash with the wii-mote.
And bigbabydaddy, you should test the unit before Christmas just too “make sure its not defective” =)
I had a Wii but sold it because I got bored of the novelty of the system after a couple of months. But good games were Zelda Twilight Princess and Warioware Smooth Moves. Mario Party 8 is also really great.

I've got the wii and an xbox 360 (just got the xbox). The games for the wii are a bit more interactive, which is quite fun. My faves are zelda and guitar hero III.

I did the same for my 10 y/o son. I had to sneak it out of the house to my brother's, so we could properly "test" it..........
We have Madden '08, SSX Blur, and we're quite tempted by Guitar Hero III...........

I'm just waiting to get my copy of Guitar Hero III... I try playing demos in all the stores, but they're out to get me. Wal Mart didn't have the right disc in the 360, GameStop A (there are two in the mall since the EB/GameStop merger) said that the 360 was broken, and GameStop B didn't have a guitar hooked to any of the systems...

Super Smash bros and a new Res Evil are two games that should be great when they come out.

According to a leaked Target advert, you can get a $25 gift card if you buy it in-store. Which basically means you get half off, as long as you buy something else.

Warioware and Mario Party are of course novelty games, though. If you stick with big name games like Zelda and away from minigames stuff, it's a lot less gimmicky.
Super Paper Mario rocks my socks off.

for your girlfriend i would suggest something like mario party 8, wario ware, anything that doesnt take an in-depth understanding. Not saying shes stupid lol just that if you're luring her to the dark side make sure something can grab her attention and fast. Also wii sports would be good and thats included.

"Wii Play" is 9 basic games plus an additional Wii Remote, for $49. The Remote is $39 by itself so its like getting the game for $10. That's going to be my final pre-Xmas purchase.
Also, don't forget to sign up for your free "jacket" for each of your Wii Remotes, after you buy your unit:

We like Warioware, Star Wars the Complete Saga, and the Spongebob game is quite amusing. Can you tell I have a six year old in the house?
