What is the best / cheapest option to unlock my iPhone to 1.1.1?

please clarify. Unlocking refers to being able to use iphone with any gsm carrier while 1.1.1 is the latest US firmware for iphone.

Sorry for the confusion. I just wanted to know the cheapest way to unlock my iPhone, while still being able to update it to the 1.1.1 firmware.

Which f/w are you on? if you are on 1.0.2, you should virginize your iPhone, upgrade to 1.1.1 and then go to jailbreakme.com and follow the instructions. Then in the installer app, install anySIM. It's FREE :) And perfectly LEGAL. It is not warez.
