well my sister and i are going to move in with our dad by the end of december.
he said previously that he'd get me a classic because my previous ipod broke.
so i asked him since we'll need to get cell phones anyway if i could get an iphone.
i like the classic and the iphone a lot...
but which one is better?

you started a thread in another forum (http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=209604) here asking which ipod you should get. you said there that you're only 16 and an iphone is too expensive for you. so what's changed? and exactly how much advice do you need from total strangers? decide what you need first and pick the ipod/iphone that suits your needs best. it's not that hard.

i'm going to kill my sister now.
sorry she posted this online and i'm really sorry.
and to answer your question, my dad has agreed to buy any ipod on any level, i just don't know which to get.
cause now i can have a 160 or 16 Gb ipod as my max

well, the classic goes all the 160GB as you mentioned, while the ipod touch goes to 16gb. I imagine there will be more third party products and enhancements for the touch than will be for the ipod classic given the touch's well, touch capabilities and also ease of jailbreaking along with the iphone. Obviously you would go with the touch if you wanted wifi, browsing capabilities, and the possibility of many 3rd party apps in the future. You would get the ipod classic for mass storage capabilities.
Now onto the issue of the iphone...it obviously comes down to needing a phone or not, however you are limited to 8GB of storage and also tied into a contract (which is huge for some people) on the other hand you also gain a camera, microphone (voice recording, possible skype, etc). Depends on what you want man, you have like 6 great options, including the nano

well i saw a touch and when the guy took it out of the box it had a song on it randomly.
so i really like the touch but the one thing that constantly bugs me is battery life. for the most expensive ipod it has worse battery life than the 149.99 nano. =/
and i still like the classic and apparently itunes 7.5 updates the bugs somewhat....

The thing you have to remember about the iPhone is you will be paying at least $20 extra a month (the price for an unlimited data plan since you are in the US) for 2 years, or $480 dollars over the life of the contract. That is in addition to regular cell phone service.
In addition, you get about 6GB usable memory. Those two things make it a hard sell for me. I keep pushing the limit on my 16GB iPod Touch and couldn't imagine having only 8GB.
The iPhone is slicker, has the touch interface, and is a cool phone. You pay for it and lose the memory. Those are the things that would affect my decision.

well it isn't an iphone anymore. really bad credit scores...
so its back to 16GB touch or 80/160 GB classic.
