Does anyone know what this dot does? (Between the sleep/wake button and the screen)

I can't believe it took me this long to notice it - but if you look at the top left hand corner of the touch screen (between the sleep/wake button and the edge of the screen) you will see a small dot, about 4mm diameter - you may have to look at it in very bright light.

Anyone know what it's for?

-secret infa red transfer feature?
-secret camera?
-nothing useful?

It's the ambient light sensor. It dims or brightens the screen based on the available light.

I believe it is a sensor for the auto brightness feature.
