Hi all not long had my first ever ipod, love it but my laptop has not much memory and dont want to keep all the music on it so wondered if there was any way that i can delete all music from library after its sync, but to allow the music to stay on ipod when i sync again after putting on more music??

First and foremost, let me make a correction: You donīt have enough storage, not memory, for your music.
There are several approaches to this: First, as you add music, burn cds with the library.
If you want to keep your music on your ipod, independently to whatīs on your computer, sync manually. Check manual sync and youīll be able to drag and drop content from your library (be it in a burned cd or in your computer) and it will stay there until you erase it. Playcounts donīt get recorded on itunes is the down side to this.
Whenever you can, get a external USB hard disk to store your collection. This way your computer won`t get dragged down by the enormous weight of your music.
