It sounds like the time on your computer is off. Have you checked this?

This happens to me too -- all the time. I posted a bug to apple. Maybe if more people complain they'll fix it.

The date changes to 1-6 months ago and the time changes to something random.

My Win XP machine has the correct date/time (plus I don't think that's sync'd by itunes). My itunes and touch have the most recent software.

My personal theory is that random bits are being written over part of the timestamp memory during synchronization.

Yep - I also have this problem with my touch. I've noticed, though, that it seems to fix itself after a few days and then gets out of sync again! Very strange...

It's not a major issue for me though - just a bit annoying.

Nope - it's not related to Jailbreaking. It's a bug in either the iTunes sync mechanism or the iPod touch OS which Apple should address at some point.

Cheers,

Mine is always one hour ahead after I sync it. My computer time is set and I can even change it on the iPod itself but it goes back to one hour ahead.

I've been having the same problem and just figured out what fixes it. If you update quicktime to the latestversion, 7.3.1, everything works fine. Hope that works for all of you.
