ok, i'm definitly going to get an ipod nano 4GB. this will be my everyday running, school, travel, everything ipod.

now i need an ipod in which i'll be using at home fomfortably, over at a friends, out doing errands and so on.

i don't have any problems with the touch at all.
i'll ave 12GB altogehter, and i had a question about which to buy a classic which has bugs or the smaller more expensive touch?

How much music do you want to carry? Why not just buy an 8GB Nano?

I have an 80GB Classic (I don't find it buggy), and a 16gb Touch. I have the Classic because I want to carry all my 35GB of music in my car. The Touch is a great toy, once you jailbreak it, but it's still an expensive toy. Unless you really need the wifi stuff, have a long think about it, and test them all out.

If its around the house iPod I definitely recommend the Classic over the iPod Touch..Touch just lacks the capacity quite frankly..you say you have 12GB now but I'm sure in 6 months you'll have plenty more.

Classic is a buggy item right now, but it is still functional..and I think apple will get to fixing it soon (at least I hope) with another firmware update.

And doesn't it seem as if someone got that 80 it is less buggy than the 160 for some reason?

The advantage to the touch if you are going to use it at friends houses, etc, is if they have wireless at your friends you can use internet with it.

exactly plus i'm in high school so i can use it at their wi-fi area.
because i have a free 7th period and no car. haha
(yet at least, april!)

so yeah.
and if i got the 8GB, that would be the ONLY IPOD FOR ME.
which i don't want.
my dad is getting me a touch or classic.
and i'll buy myself a nano for running and stuff so i won't have that expensive ipod break.
that is the LAST thing i need.

I've found that the touch is insanely awesome around the house and at work. The wifi bit is great but unless you are at a friend's house you probably won't find many open access points. 2 factors... Music or movies? And home or outside. If video is a must, touch. If audio and running around town doing errands, classic. Just my opinion.

Oh and this was typed on my 16gb touch.

well i do listen to a lot of music and videos.
plus i'll have some photos.

i just really hope that apple releases a new firmware update really soon.
if they do, i'll get a classic. but the bugs seem so horrid right now. =/

Double check with your school people that you can actually use the device in their wifi and that they will allow it to connect. Depending on how the authenticate, you may or may not be able to use the Touch on their network.

Go for the touch. It is an expensive toy but it sounds as if that is not an issue for you. Even if you do not Jailbreak it, it is still very handy. It is good as a read only PDA to keep your life organized.

i'm turning 17 in one month exactly.
i don't need to be organized, i'm very organized and very anal about being disorganized. :p

but i dunno...8 or 80?
=/
i'm very undesicive by the way.

also i don't know about the wifi at my school. we use macs at our school but i don't know if they have passwords there.

i have my broken screened ipod nano 4GB second gen i could use for extra storage but it's like a huge shuffle since i got no screen. =/
so technically if i get a touch i'd have 20GB. and 12GB could be for video and some music.
but the classic is really nice and i miss having an ipod video.
i got the original 30GB for my 15th birthday but it got stolen by someone i thought was my friend...

sorry for the huge long post

If you don't need lots of GB, the touch is really cool. You can browse the internet while you wake up in the morning. Pretty cool to be able to read digg, engadget, ilounge, news, etc. from the couch or recliner after a long day, or if your aren't feeling so great. The screen is large and beautiful, so it is really nice for movies, YouTube, etc. You can also check your email (gmail) anywhere in the house.

I keep about 400 songs, 10 TV episodes, 2 full-length movies, 150 photos on my touch, and it is less than half full. (I know my music collection is small compared to most! I only put my favorites on my ipod, and that changes over time, so i rotate the songs i put on it.)

Yeah, it's the 16, but it's less than half full. (Forgot to mention a bunch of podcasts and video podcasts stored on it too.)

see a 16GB i could live with.
but i'd only be able to get the 8.

i need to still play around with a classic with media in it.
and i need to play with touch with stuff in it too.

but that might take a while. =/
the closest apple store is in brea...

16GB touch or an 80 gig ipod + 4GB nano?

and why is a 16GB touch so good? i'm kinda confused about that.
cause it doesn't hold that much still...

Its sexy.thats why

dannyfanny90

yes but just because something is sexy doesn't mean its worth it.
moto razr=sexy thin=horrid phone

does it have any bugs and are they fixable by firmware updates?
cause i might just get the classic if i'm getting a nano too. cause my dad is going to spend 400 dollars on me.
which means i won't have to buy the nano myself...
