I just picked up a iPod Touch from Costco, for a couple of reasons. 90 day return policy, less money ($389.99), and they let me paw over all the Touch's before purchase. Surprisingly, all of them were week 41... Haven't heard any word on if Week 41 Touch's are good or bad, but I figured newer is better. I will let everyone know if week 41 has any issues or not... :)

I purchased a week 42 from Best Buy this weekend.

Oh and hi. I'm a lurking newb. First post. First iPod.

Well i picked mine up at Amazon.com. They're shipping out week 41s as well. Costco has a pretty good return policy. Amazon is pretty good as well though. I had to replace my original order because of a dead/stuck pixel problem. I got my brand new replacement in about a week. Plus i use Amazon.com a lot so I recently accumulated 2 $25.00 gift certificates. I used them towards my Touch. :)

I wonder if there are any differences between 41 and 42. Screen fixes, less stuck pixels, etc.

I've not read about of any differences between the two -- nor any characteristics of either week for that matter.

Yea, the only differences I've read were the neg. black effect fix.

I've done most of the tests on my week 41 iTouch and I have to say it's good to go. No hiss, no negative blacks and no dead pixels.

I am having a bit of trouble logging into my home wi-fi though :o It seems as though I can't remember my password!! My laptop logs in automatically, so I have no reason to know it.. Can anyone help with this?? There is no problem with Safari, because I'm using it here at work (on our wi-fi) and have no issues...

Youtube doesn't play any of the videos I've selected either. Any ideas on when they all might be converted for use on iTouch?? Thanks for all the help...:)

I have a week 40 and it is perfect. No hissing, no black splotch issues, no dead pixels. I don't think there will ever be a single week or series of weeks where there will be iPods without issues, especially dead pixels. You take your chances with any week.

Hmmm. Were you not the one that set up your wireless network at home? If you did you must remember setting things up via your wireless router's set-up interface--which is usually web bowser accessible. However, that interface is usually password protected as well. But if you can get in there you could simply reset the password for your network.

Some wireless routers also have a physical reset button on the back if all else fails. But then you'll have to re-setup everything. And you'll still need the router default password.
