I have lots of animated films on my iPod. I used the software cucuosft to convert my DVD's. Cucusoft is able to convert the dvd into the format that is needed by the iPod. After converting the movie --I then add the file to my movie library in iTunes. Then I sync the movies to my iPod. website is cucusoft.com
It does cost. The software cost me $50 and I have converted about 25 dvd's. Very easy software to use. A blind dog could convert a dvd. They even let you try it for free. The free trial has a watermark.

Handbrake should work fine. I'd suggest you go through and determine the settings you used to encode it since the iPod Touch only supports certain video formats - from Apple's website at http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/specs.html --
H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

Make sure you select "H.264 (iPod)", Otherwise it wont work. I made this mistake.

You can also convert through iTunes. If you are having an issue with a particular piece of content then drag it into your Library, then click on it and choose "Convert for iPod". It will make a copy that you can drag into the touch.

I recently brought an iPod game off the itunes online store, and i payed and recieved it.
Instead of being located in my purchased folder of my itunes, it is in another folder entirely called iPod games.
I have no idea how to get the actual game onto my itouch, and it won't sink automatically. i also got no screens helping me.
another problem i have is that i downloaded cucusoft, and payed for it.
but when i put in a dvd which ive brought in the shops (which on the back of the case has the copyright symbol) it can't get the dvds to copy. it only copies to audio, never the visual.
it also records for one second then shuts down completely.
please i really need help with this.
any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure why you posted in this thread rather than starting your own...
First, the iPod Touch currently does NOT support any iPod games. If you purchased it specifically for your iPod Touch, contact Apple and ask for a refund.
I can't help you with Cucusoft - I've never used it. Perhaps the DVD you're trying to rip is copy protected? I'd check with the software vendor and get their support...

You didn't read the print regarding iPod games. No games are currently compatible with the iPod touch from the iTunes store.
