Startup Apple Logo

I recently jailbroke my iPod touch and have been messing around with all the different hacks for it. I thought it would be really neat to instead of the default apple logo on startup, to have the classic rainbow apple logo instead. So i used the Cyberduck SFTP client on my brothers macbook, navigated through folders until i found the applelogo.png file and replaced it with the rainbow apple logo. So upon restart i find that the default logo is still there, except for the last second when it is in transition from the startup to the springboard. So basically, it seems as though i only found the file for the transition icon.

Before anyone yells at me for it, i did in fact google this to find a fix for it, and couldnt find one.

Also, do you think i could somehow add a sound to startup, like the startup sound on a Mac?
