dock connector

Hi all,

Just bought an Ipod touch, before I was owning an ipod 3g 15Go, would like to know if I can use both the dock connector / Firewire cable or if it is not compatible ? Using the firewire cable into the power plug is it compatible as well ?

You can use Firewire with the power adapter to charge, but you can't sync with Firewire.

firewire for charging only. will not sync...

I replaced the firewire cable with the usb cable which came with the touch, and plugged it into the dock from my ipod3rd generation, and it is working, sync, charging ... Is there any known issue to use that dock instead of the new one ? the only point I can see is that it is not fitting "exactly" in it but however it is not moving inside ???
