My iPod Mini-Silver ordered from Amazon on Feb 1, has an eta of Feb 7-9, 2005. This is just a place holder as they have no idea when they'll receive them yet. Here's an email I got from them when I questioned them on any additonal info (this was from this morning when i heard minis were shipping from apple):

Our latest information indicates that the Apple 4 GB iPod Mini
Silver M9160LL/A has not yet been released and the expected release
date is not known. As soon as a release date has been determined
for this item, we will add that information to our web site.

While we are confident that copies will be made available, we cannot
provide more precise information about the fulfillment of the order.
In light of this uncertainty, we will understand if you would prefer
to cancel your order. As of yet we have made no changes.

I'm itching so bad for one of these things, i'm thinking about called Ingram Micro (or does apple use Tech Data for distrobution) to see if they have an eta.

I'm kinda wishing I had ordered from Apple, considering the lack of information Amazon.com has been giving me. But it was considerably cheaper from them, and in general I have been pleased with their service, so I think I'll just wait a little longer to get mine.

In the Apple press release today, they said that all apple resellers should have the iPod, for sale, on Friday by 6pm. I wonder if that means catalog resellers (such as Amazon, Macmall, clubmac, CDW, maczone, etc etc) will have it as well, before Friday at 6pm. For a retail store to have it on sale Friday evening, usually means they'll get it on Thursday at some point right?

I'm just wondering if Amazon will get them in stock around this time. I'm leaving on a cruise this upcoming Monday for a week, so I guess I'll miss the shipment, if it happens.

Same here! i ordered my ipod mini from bestbuy, and the release date is 2/20/05, so now i am just witing until the 20th to see if they have shipped my ipod mini or not. if they don't shipped to me on the 20th, then i am going to cancel my order from bestbuy and order from apple.

Got tired of waiting for amazon to get with the program so i cancelled the order and ordered from macmall. At least they know when the ship date is.

i am going to wait just a little longer for bestbuy, if by next moday that they still didn't ship my ipod mini, then i am going to cancel my order and goto apple.com

well, i just got a e-mail from bestbuy that says:

"Originally, this product had an anticipated release date of February 16th. We have received information from Apple that the release date for this item, which you pre-ordered from BestBuy.com, has changed. We are anticipating that the item should ship from our warehouse by February 26th. Depending on the shipping option you chose when you ordered the product, you will receive it shortly after the new release date. You will receive an email confirmation once your order has shipped, and your credit card will not be charged until that time. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. "

so i guess i'll getting my ipod mini by the end or next week! sweet!

BTW: i chose next day shipping, so i should get my on friday.

Just checked up on my order at Amazon, and its now listed as "Shipping Soon". That *usually* means it'll ship within 24 hours, so with any luck I should have it early next week.
