Hello everyone,
This is my first post at iPodlounge but I have been lurking around the message boards for quite some time.
I received my brand new 10gb iPod as a Christmas gift and was quite impressed with the beauty and form of the iPod. Naturally my next question was how to protect it.
I purchased a DLO Jam Jacket case from Best Buy and was left with trying to figure out how to protect the LCD screen on my iPod.
I also own a Dell Axim and did a home made screen protector (thanks to JayT's handy templates) project for it that costed me around .85 cents and left me with a years supply of screen protectors.
My idea is inspired by this PDA project and I think it could be applied to the iPod screen as well.
Here is a site for the Dell Axim screen templates that inspired this project:

I imagine that I could come up with a template like the one above but specifically for the ipod. The protector would slip under the silicon cases that do not have LCD screen protectors.
The material used would be Overhead projector transparencies such as these that are extremely inexpensive:

These transparencies would be cut to fit the screen of the ipod and held in place by the silicon case (notches in the case may need to be made).
I will try to follow through with this project and post more info as I go along. Hopefully this could provide a cheap alternative for those that do not necesarilly need the most bells and whistles for their case.
Please post any feeback or thoughts.
Happy New Year
