ipod lag when large files added in disk mode?

I added about 8 or so large files (music videos) to the ipod today via usb by dragging and dropping with internet explorer. Now between menu's on the ipod everything goes a lot slower. Im pretty sure it's related to the files that are on there, along with my already existing music that's on there. Has anyone else had this problem?

I suspect it has more to do with the amount of space you've left on your iPod.

My 20GB iPod starts lagging whenever there is less than 2GB left on it, whether or not I'm using it to store gigantic movie files at the time.
