I have a Syba 2 port firewire card that I picked up for $17, works like a charm. Good luck finding one that works for you.

I use the Adaptec 4300 firewire card. It works great.

I also use the Belkin card which I bought with my iPod from the Apple Store. I'm on a dell desktop, easy to put in and install (took no less than 5 minutes). Firewire is better than USB 2.0.
